My name is Louise Shuttleworth and I am a relationship counsellor in East Sussex. My offices are in Brighton but many of my couples live further afield in other areas. The whole aim is to help you with any issues you might have in your relationship with your partner. In these trying times we find ourselves in for 2020, I am also working a lot via online sessions. Many couples are finding this a really beneficial option.
If you feel like you might not be getting anywhere with solving problems between the two of you; don’t give up just yet. Relationship counselling, or couples therapy (very American!) is always a really positive step when working on a relationship. Unfortunately, many couples leave it as a last resort. Having sessions with me should be seen as a preventative step rather than a “band aid” to keeping a relationship healthy.
I am a UKCP, MBACP Integrative Psychotherapist and AC Psychological Coach. In my private consulting rooms, or via my popular online sessions, I can help you understand your behaviour towards each other. Ultimately, ensuring that you understand where your differences lie.
Relationship counselling can help you to understand the positive as well as negative habits you may have in your relationship. The majority of the time couples therapy will help to steer relationships in a much more hopeful direction.
With my sessions, I offer a system where both parties will be requested to contribute weekly. A safe reflective space and practical tools will be given, to support improved communication between the two of you, as well as a path to improved intimacy.
Coming to therapy sessions with me might initially appear to be a daunting prospect. Understandably, it may at first be difficult to start opening up and talking about your feelings. This is why the initial session will give you the opportunity to see how it feels. There is never any obligation to proceed from this point. I will also be able to address any questions you may have, that will help you feel more at ease.
When approaching couples therapy, the process is always collaborative. This should then help you to understand each other’s problems and help you deal with them in future.
So if you’d like to find out more about couples therapy then please get in touch. I am a highly experienced Relationship Counsellor in East Sussex and I would love to hear from you. Or if you are anywhere else in the country and are interested in my online couples therapy then please mention that when you enquire. Please contact me using the form on the website, via email, or call me on 07956 684455.
I am now offering online sessions via Zoom, Skype, Facetime and calls. Please contact me for more information.
