Are you adopted and looking for a specialist in this area? Or are you looking at adopting and would like some adoption support in East Sussex or wherever you live? My name is Louise Shuttleworth and I can help you.
I am an approved DDP practitioner and LINK Barnados therapist (a legal requirement to offer therapy within the field of adoption). I am a specialist and can offer both therapeutic and attachment focused therapy to individuals and family members who have chosen to adopt. In this way, I understand in depth the complexity of issues that surrounds adoption.
I can offer you whatever therapy is required; whether it is parental support, child therapy or even teenage counselling – the choice is yours. I am currently working either face to face with my clients in East Sussex or online via Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp – whatever works for you best.
There are many complexities with adoption and my aim is to make it a smoother transition for you all.
To support this type of work, I completed this extensive training and now a full practitioner as a Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and have trained in Theraplay Level one and two and have completed the practicum to become a full practitioner in 2020. Both trainings offer you as parents practical and understanding of the pathway to greater connection.
If you have any questions or would like to meet with me for any form of adoption support in East Sussex, then please get in touch. Whether you would like to see me face to face or perhaps online, that is totally your choice. I can reassure you, explain what happens going forward. We can perhaps then arrange an initial appointment. Or indeed, if you are anywhere in the country and think you would or know someone who would benefit from any form of counselling, then I can help with this as well. Please contact me using the contact form on the website, via email, or please call me on 07956 684455.
I am now offering online sessions via Zoom, Skype, Facetime and calls. Please contact me for more information.
