As Client and Therapist, the initial session is an opportunity to see how it feels from both sides. There is no obligation to proceed from this point. We may take the opportunity to put into words the current challenges for which you require Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will address any questions you may have. This is a decision that both of us will have some input into and neither party will feel obliged to proceed.
The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to attend to your concerns so you feel heard and supported. The relationship is confidential and is based on respect and trust. I am trained and experienced to help people who experience problematic thoughts, feelings or behaviour. The process is a collaborative one and this should then help you to take control of your life and to understand the reasons behind your problems, which may help you to deal with these problems in the future.
I offer a Cognitive Behavioural approach to supporting you and your partner. This offers a systematic approach where both parties will be requested to contribute weekly in a methodological approach. In this way, a safe reflective space and practical tools to support improved communication and a path to improved intimacy will be taken.
